From One on One Services to Earning Passive Income From One on One Services to Earning Passive IncomeI speak with a lot of coaches, entrepreneurs and small business owners who are marketing themselves online. Without exception, they all tell me that they don’t want to just offer one-on-one services, but also they want to earn passive income on a consistent basis.

It is, without a doubt, absolutely possible to create a passive income business; the reality is that for most people, it doesn’t just happen overnight.

There is a natural path that is generally the easiest to follow which includes — starting with one-on-one services, next creating leveraged income and finally passive income.

Starting with one-on-one services is the easier and simply put, it’s the fastest path to the cash. For most coaches, entrepreneurs and small business owners, it’s easier to start by selling your time than by creating packaged programs.

Once you’ve delivered your services one-on-one, you can now take the system you’ve used with your one-on-one clients/customers tweak it and package it in a group format. That creates leveraged income. Delivering the program still relies on your personal involvement, but because you’re delivering it to more than one person at a time, you’ve now created what is called ‘leveraged income’. When you generate ‘leveraged income’, it allows you to help more people and earn more money for the same investment of your time.  Who doesn’t like that?

Now here’s where things really start to spiral. In working with your one-on-one and group clients/customers, your system will get clearer and more defined. You’ll find that you keep saying the same things over and over, you keep hearing the same questions, and the same problems and challenges keep coming up. You can now package your system and sell it because it is now a passive income program. I’m sure you like this.

There is no end to how you can create leveraged and passive income, e.g. home study programs, group coaching programs, e-books, teleseminar series, boot camps, or membership programs. Because everyone learns differently it’s important to have a variety of medias for delivering your solutions/outcomes.

The key to making it all happen is having a signature system that you follow. Once you know your system, it’s just a matter of packaging it and delivering it in a variety of different ways.

And of course the final key… you can only perfect your system when you have a clear niche. It’s only when you work with a specific group of people and focus on specific solutions that you have enough momentum to create your own signature system.

No matter how you spin it, building a successful (and leveraged) business requires a clearly defined niche. You’ll be amazed at how much easier it is to market yourself and earn more income when the niche is clearly defined.

In Summary, having a defined niche will allow you to move From One-on-One Services to Earning Passive Income in a short amount of time.

7 Things To Do Before 2012

7 Things To Do Before 2012 7 Things To Do Before 2012I recently read a great article by Bull and Bear Essentials on the 7 Things To Do Before 2012. It was very enlightening so I decided to share those 7 Things To Do Before 2012 here:

1. Buy Folder – Taxes: Use these days to get organized for tax time. Print up this list of things you will need from TurboTax. Get ready to mail in your taxes well before the deadline this year.

2. Buy Folder – Compliments: What is better than a compliment folder? This folder is for you to record every complimentary email you get from colleagues and clients this year. Also, print major and minor accomplishments.

Why do you need this? By November you will have forgotten about what you did in February. Recording and thus remembering is your ticket to negotiating a higher salary at the end of next year.

 3. Use Your Flexible and Health Care Spending: Check to see what balances remain in your accounts. Then buy a pair of glasses. Even if you don’t wear them—get non prescription lenses. Why? They make an amazing first impression. People’s impressions are formed not based upon what you say, but what you look like and how you carry yourself. The quicker you learn what you are looking for, the easier it is to master it.

4. Update you Resume and Social Networking Profile: You never know when you will need an updated resume and bio. Update it now. On the career oriented networking sites, make sure your information is up to date.

As it relates to social networking sites—make sure everything up there is appropriate and has privacy controls. Google yourself and make this a practice. You don’t need those unfortunate bikini shots to show up on a casual Google search—or that entire photo album you forgot to mark private.

A good rule of thumb is to remove any photos of you that you wouldn’t want on the front page of your local paper.

5. Review your Investments—In the financial world and in yourself: On the financial side, consider where you are in life (buying a home, retiring etc.) and where the market is — is it a good time for stocks or bonds? Make any revisions necessary to your financial plan.

On the personal side, invest in what you want to become. Consider investing in self-improvement activities such as public speaking courses, yoga classes and Spanish lessons.

6. Catalogue Your Expenses: Download what you spent across all of your credit and debt cards this year. Sort expenses by category. You may be surprised by what you find.

7. Turn Common Spending into Celebrations: In 2012, you may need to find ways to 1) curtail 2) become more aware of and 3) have more fun with your spending.

How? Turn ordinary spending into celebrations. Spending money should be treated as a gift. So if you are buying someone lunch—tell them why. If you ski for a day- get appropriately excited and relish it afterwards.

Try to attach an emotional linkage to what would otherwise be a simple monetary transaction. This places awareness upon and lends more joy to spending.

There is still time in 2011 to complete this list of 7 Things To Do Before 2012.

5 Networking Keys: From Old School to New School

5 Networking Keys From Old School to New School 5 Networking Keys: From Old School to New School

Strategic professional networking is one of the most powerful methods of growing your business in today marketplace.  The massive rise of online social networking has created a paradigm shift in how we function, build relationships, communicate and do business both on- and off-line.  Social media has made networking more scalable.

In the world of networking via social media, the following 5 Networking Keys: From Old School toNewSchooltechniques are key:

1. Implement the human touch: The key is to get personal.  This applies to B2B and B2C.  Networking is always going to be a human business, even with all of our technology.  Don’t forget to leverage technology because it is a ‘multiplier’ and learn to do ‘one-on-one scaling’.

2. Be patient:  Remember that good things come to those who wait.  Building a relationship takes time.  Think about your current relationships that have been very successful in your career, business and life – they took time to cultivate and you spent the time necessary to nurture them to where they are today.  The same applies to social networking

3. Some things never change: People have been recommending, referring and sharing information about products and services since the beginning of time. Even though social media has added another means of networking, networking is still a mutually beneficial process whereby you share ideas, leads, information, resources, support and always laughter (remember it is good for the soul).

4. Get a presence and be a matchmaker:  The key is to be seen, get known and bring attention to you and your business.  Blogging, posting on others’ blogs, re-tweeting and making online introductions is a great way to network with presence.

5. Leverage technology:  There was a time when only big businesses were able to reach the masses.  Today, everyone can use technology to reach the masses. Learn to leverage technology (it as a multiplier).  It gives a small business a large presence.

Here are a few new school Do’s and Don’ts:

  • Do RSVP and show up for face-to-face events in your community.
  • Do keep your antenna up to learn what you can bring to the table that will help others.
  • Do ask for help when you need it.  It will give those people whom you so generously helped a chance to return the support.
  • Don’t assume that everyone or anyone is there to support your agenda.
  • Don’t forget to appropriately acknowledge the gifts of time, advice, support, ideas and leads – always show your appreciation.
  • Don’t just get in touch with people only when you need something from them. How would you feel if it was reversed?
